Course Code: 30531, Lectures: 2, Credits: 2

Objectives
Acquisition of approaches and tools for the inventive solution of engineering problems.

Content
Analysis and invention of solutions based on TRIZ / TIPS (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) methods and ASIT (Advanced Systematic Inventive Thinking) techniques. The Closed World Principle, the Quality Change Principle. Methods of invention: unification, multiplication, division, breaking of symmetry and deduction. Methodical creation of gradual improvements in existing products.

Outcome
On the conclusion of the course, the students will be capable of the methodological operation of thinking processes which will assist them, and which will increase the chances of them finding an “out of the box” solution to problems that they find difficulty in solving.
